Hisaronu is lovely - Michelle Huws-Thomas. Date of travel: Oct 2008
I reluctantly went as thought Hisaronu may be like Blackpool with sun but what a pleasant and glorious surprise! My sister has an apartment there and we went with my two neices in late October. The resort was quiet and we sunbathed under 70 degrees heat every day. The resort is lovely, within the mountainous region and I can totally understand why Olu Deniz is so well covered in mage and media. We sunbathed by the lagoon every day and paying to go in for the priviledge also made me feel I was contributing to its upkeep and beauty. I am not a bar/club person, but because the resort was so quiet it was delightful to sit by a bar and sip drinks withough being surrounded by British drunk louts or gangs. The Turkish people are beautiful and love it when you try to speak their language (which is really hard!). Aziz and Daphne's Bistro was one of our favourites as my sister is friendly with the owners. A 'no frills' restaurant with lovely satisfying food, very family oriented and lovely people. It struck me that although capitalism has naturally hit Turkey, the greed has not yet permeated through to its people in this region. Yes, there are tacky gift shops galore, yes there are the odd loud tacky bars and clubs but they are not everywhere and my small neices were welcomed everywhere we went (pushchairs and teddybears alike). I cannot believe I am saying this, but it's probably the bset holiday I have ever been on and I am hard to please!

Hisaranu 5th time round - Paul Jackie. Date of travel: Sep 2008
Firstly weather in Hisaronu is great, prices have increased on everything about 20% the the best place to eat I found was Shanghi Blue. It far outshines any Chinese I have ever been in for both food and hospitality, I tried various other places but always went back. For jewellery I go to Pinari jewelers good value and trustworthy. Accommodation, I go to St Nicholas gardens but it is well overdue for renovation although it has a very friendly atmosphere and good food.

Just returned from a holiday in Turkey in the last couple of days. Been wanting to go there for some time and am really pleased I managed to get there this year. Hisaronu itself is really beautiful located in the mountains which is surrounded by wonderful scenery. The hotel Seden at which I stayed was ideally located for a short walk into the town itself. The rooms in the hotel were basic but ideal for what I wanted. The staff themselves at the hotel were all friendly and very attentive to your every need. The pool area was ideal kept clean and tidy and the breakfast provided was not a varied choice but always fresh. The town area of Hisaronu is bigger than I actually thought with great shops bars and beautiful restaurants. You are spoilt for choice. The local market is on a Monday and a must to go to if only for the banter of the locals, you can also grab a great bargain if you barter. 1 great cocktail bar is called Q which provides 3 times a week entertainment although each night you will be entertained by 2 of the local guys whom dance on the bar most nights. Serge who is manager of the bar will always make you welcome and performs dances usually performs to MICHEAL JACKSON. Always had a great night when there. Give it a try you have nothing to lose. The staff are both friendly and polite what more could you ask for.

My husband and I have just came back from Hisaronu for the 16th time over 6 years. We both like the area for the friendliness over Spain. It is like a home from home especially when staying in a family run apartments such as the Malibu, where Josef and Nevin invites people into their family. We found that for food a good place to go is the ALFORA in Olu Deniz, a small but pricey restaurant that is very good, as the food was delicious. Fethiye market on Tuesday is busy as always with both locals and inteprid holidaymakers from all over the world.

Wherever you eat in Hisaronu all the restaurants serve lovely food. There are some cheaper than others. The Olive Tree is quite expensive for what you have, Robin Hood is very good. The nightlife in Hisaronu can be as quiet or as loud as you want it. You can stay in the restaurants and have a good night just chatting to the locals or you can go to karaoke bars or to the disco, whatever, the choice is up to the individual. Eefs beer is very good!

I have an appartment in Ovacik and have been going for many years. Hisaronu is for chavs. Olu Deniz is lovely, the food is 100% fresher and better cooked. One restaurant to avoid is THE VINEYARD. It is managed by a woman from Manchester who has no idea of how to run a restaraunt. The food was awful but don't complain as she'll accuse you of bullying her. Best place to eat is Captain Hooks (Asena Hotel) in Olu Deniz.

Hisoranu is a brilliant resort to visit with a large variety iof restaurants and clubs to visit. The Turkish people are very friendly. The best bar is the Aloha bar, visit DJ Tolga and the rest of the staff for a great evening. Buy your trips in the town not from the hotel because they are far cheaper. Go on the Jeep Safari it is fantastic and a laugh from beginning to end, be prepared to get wet.

Hisaronu - what a place! As a single woman travelling alone I felt really safe, plenty of restaurants to suit all, place to go: Bar Rumba, all staff speak English very well, any problems and speak to Bilal or the owner. I have never found anyone so helpful, great atmosphere, brilliant!!

11 days to go!!! Can't wait to go back - Louise Hart. Date of travel: Jun 2008
I discovered Hisaronu for the first time last June, I went on holiday with a couple of friends and I had a fantastic week. So much so I booked for Sept '07 as soon as I got home. I returned in Sept with my four-year-old daughter and my mum, the weather was scorching (45 degrees) most days and we spent a lot of time by the pool to stay cool. We enjoyed eating out at Black and White-Greek/Turkish restaurant (above the Efes bar), Shanghai Blues and kebabs from Big Brother on way back to hotel at the end of the evening. Fez Bar is a favourite with many of my friends although I did spend most nights in Time Out where there is a lovely outdoor seating area. If you aren't microphone shy, they have the best karaoke system in the area, men dancing on the bar, entertainment and at midnight, karaoke stops and the dancing starts, if you have the stamina, Time Out is open til about 5am in peak season. Yes there are plenty of English tourists in the area but it is not a resort like Marmaris or Magaluf or heaven forbid Ibiza, it suits small groups of friends, couples, and families and I am even going completely by myself next week! It is friendly, personable and many return year after year. And because there are many English people it is easy to make friends whilst watching the Football (Fez Bar) or having a sing song (Attika, Time Out, Costello's). there are no big groups of louts flashing body parts, drunk and falling in the gutter. Even Turkish families go on holiday here because to them it is a Paradise (Olu Deniz is the most photographed beach in Europe if not the world and you can see why, amazing). I am not adverse to having a great time and a right good drink just not to the extreme. And there is plenty of variety and opportunity to have great nights out. Hisaronu has breathtaking surrounding areas and many fantastic day trips on offer. I would recommend the jeep safari and the boat trips. Many of the trips are only about £10 for adults and most child places are free. Lunch is normally included also. Hisaronu is relaxed during the day and shops are not too crowded. The people are friendly and welcoming and the service is fantastic. I didn't find that I got hassled too much, yes there are many bars and restaurants touting for business, a polite 'No thank you' or 'maybe another time' suffices, and they will leave you alone. Next week I plan to chill in the day and have right good nights out. I am so excited that I feel sick (sad for a 30-year-old, I know) but I am in love with the place. Can't wait to retire there in 20 years time.

What a lovely place! I read some of the reviews after I had already booked the holiday and they made me worry that it was going to be an awful rowdy resort....that's far from the truth. Yes there are plenty of neon lights and lively bars but the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly so we embraced the slightly cheesier side and had a fantastic time. Hakuna Matata is great for Karaoke and they do Turkish singing and dancing too. During the day there is loads to do... we booked a fair few excursions with Seaside travel and they were fantastic and sorted out any problems we had. I would recommend the Paragliding and blue bays boat trip. There is also an excursion to Saklikent gorge which is a beautiful place but if you hire a car just drive yourself and enjoy the place without a guide...do wear clothes you don't mind getting wet though! There are loads of places to eat out in Hisaronu, our favourite was Malibu and if you go try the lamb shank it's lovely. Oludeniz beach is great too...it's mostly pebbles but that doesn't spoil it. Overall one of the best holidays I have had and I would definitely go back again.

In Hisaronu there's lots restaurants and bars with plenty to do in the evenings. During the day you can take the dolmus (mini bus) down to the beautiful beach at Olu Deniz. The local town Fethiye has a lovely water front and a busy market with lots of bargains to be had.

Slightly disappointed as there were too many English tourists in Hisaronu, thankfully we didn't visit in high season, which I guess must be a murder with all English football, beer-swilling fatsos around. Wasn't cheap either but have to admit lovely mountains as a backdrop added to otherwise dreary place. Best thing to do here is to paraglide in the nearby Olu Deniz. Amazing.

Hisaronu - Best resort in Turkey - Sharon. Date of travel: Sep 2007
Hisaronu is the best resort in Turkey, I have been going there for the last 8 years. There is one main street which is packed with bars, restaurants, cafes, shops which sell anything and everything. There is a market on Mondays which is definitely worth a visit, where you can pick up a bargain and even try your hand at a bit of bartering! There's a Water Park just a 2 min bus ride down the road in Ovacik and you have the lovely Oludeniz beach just a 10 min bus journey away. I highly recommend this resort. I love it and will be returning again next year.

Hisaronu is lively and fun - Jake Long. Date of travel: Sep 2007
I found the nightlife was really good and more varied than is immediately apparent. The shop owners/workers were a breath of fresh air after the uncomfortable pushiness of Fethiye market. Hisaronu 'village', if you can call it that, cannot offer very much in the way of Turkish culture, it is gaudy and touristy to the extreme. It can, however, offer fun, frolicks and a light and friendly atmosphere. There's plenty to do and teenagers would struggle to be bored. The outlying area is fantastic. The people, generally, are great and the beaches....WOW.

Hisaronu is a great place to visit. It has everything single or families could want, near beach, lots of shops restaurants, bars and entertainment. Very good value for money and generally all people are very helpful and lovely. Recommend visiting this resort but try and stay near or in the resort itself.

Hisaronu - An ideal holiday - Lezley & James. Date of travel: Aug 2007
I've stayed in Hisaronu for many years now and watched the village grow and change a great deal but many hotels, restaurants and bars are Turkish owned and run; therefore keeping a charm and atmosphere to the place :) The locals are lovely and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. As with most places in Turkey, children are always welcome :)
There are many restaurants to suit every taste and many bars ranging from modern dance music for the younger clients; music, pool tables and occasional shows for the more sedate folk amongst us and other bars with no music at all just friendly chatter and a relaxing atmosphere. We find Hustlers to be a family fun bar with lovely staff and reasonable prices.
There is no beach at Hisaronu but the beautiful main beach at Olu Deniz and the famous Blue Lagoon reserve are a short bus ride away. Paragliding over the mountains down to the beach occurs all year and gives the beach-goers some fab displays to watch. Olu Deniz sunsets are not to be missed!!! And the 'surfy' atmosphere in the evening is fab!! Try the Help beach lounge for excellent food and a great atmosphere.
Kaya Village is also very near Hisaronu and the dolmus will take you down there each hour during the day and night. Lots of ruins to see and visit and the history of the place is a somewhat sad story but that makes it all the more interesting! It's an excellent place to visit - the Ghost Village. Call in at Caspers Cafe Bar for excellent 'home-cooked' English and Turkish food, a lovely atmosphere and spectacular views. See photo.
All in all - a holiday with something for everyone regardless of age or tastes :0)

Having booked a last minute deal to Hisaronu, we weren't too sure what we had let ourselves in for, but what a surprise. Fantastic resort, friendly people, no hassle, just a nice, nice place. Would recommend eating at "Cheers" fab food and great service. However it was the Cozy Corner (opposite Talk of the Town) which made our holiday complete. Michelle and Hasan made us feel welcome and at home from day one, we had a drink there every night and one night I even ended up working there!! Even if you just pop in for one drink make sure you do, but also check out the menu, all of the food is cooked to order and the omlettes are to die for. Yaman (the doorman for Attika the bar upstairs) can keep you entertained for hours. If you do pop along please say a big hello to Michelle, Hasan and Yaman from Dee, Kev & Jack.

Hisaronu is a great place to go everything there that you need. If you want to venture out the local buses are called dolmus and they pick you up anywhere, they are very cheap and are very regular. Hisaronu has a market day every Monday, but you have to go to the big market at fethiye it is an experience you should not miss. There is a great harbour in Fethiye and the boat trips are a must. The only downside to Hisaronu, if you can call it that, is the shop and restaurant owners are always stopping you trying to get you in to their establishments but hey, that's part of Turkey.

Hisaronu was a truly amazing place! It had some fabulous clubs, the main one (our favourite) being Attika. We enjoyed our sex on the beach fishbowls every night. This got us proper wacked mate init, you can dance on the bars. Every minute it's Ludicris. Jamie the little geezer who works there is the wackiest dancer I know. The shopping banging. You can buy perfume from a sweaty man and the bottles smell like sweaty vinegar, it's nice but they're only about 1p so it doesn't matter. You can also zoom around in Falcon Centre on a chair.

Why we love Hisaronu.... - Elaine B. Date of travel: Aug 2007
Hisaronu has an excellent choice of shops, bars and restaurants. As well as the usual souvenir shops there are also some really nice clothes shops and jewellers. Restaurants offering all kinds of dishes, from Chinese to traditional Turkish and even an English-style fish and chip restaurant can be found here. Some of the best ones we tried were the White Man, The Lemon Tree and Malibu, which does awesome steaks. Bars to recommend are Hustlers if you like the latest dance tracks, Heads & Tails for great cocktails and Aloha Bar. Also, if you want a really good laugh with some great guys, visit the Fez Bar. They have a fantastic cocktail list (be warned - they're pretty powerful as I found out!) and they dance non-stop (you are expected to join in so don't be shy). A good point to note is that the main street is pedestrianised in the evenings which means you don't have to dodge the traffic. By day, there is a regular dolmus to Olu Deniz if you fancy a day on the beach and you can ring Billy (his number is at reception in the Lycian) who will take you to his own beach at the Blue Lagoon and drop you back off for free, just pay for a sunbed (4YTL). There is no shortage of trips either. We hired a boat last year for our party of 13 and it cost just £8 each with lunch included for a full day. There is also a trip to Rhodes which we plan to do this year, Jeep Safari and River Gorge Cruise which are all good value.

Amazing times - Heather. Date of travel: Jul 2007
All good points to mention here regarding Hisaronu. Proper amazing staff. You have the time of your life and don't want to leave. Great location, great veiws, tons of entertainment. Generally an amazing holiday!

Hisaronu great place to go second time there - Morrison. Date of travel: Jul 2007
Only bad point was the hotel. Good points are many. Try the cozy corner cafe, they make you welcome and don't mind if you have something to eat or just drop in for a beer and a chat.

Been going on holiday to Hisaronu every year since 1992, when there was very little there. Now it changes year by year. The people are great. The marina is a great place to eat, Mehmet the owner and Sedat the head waiter cant do enough for you. The whiteman is also a great place to eat. Overall it is a fantastic place for a holiday and by the way people will recognise you when you go back.

Hisaronu is great! Went into town every night and ate at pizza pepinos with amazing staff and food! The town really comes to life at night, with all the friendly people out and about, the cocktail bars and restaurants and the neon lights from them, lighting up the main street. Fun clubs as well! Amazing cocktails, and food and it is all worth every penny. Amazing people, place, food etc. The sunsets are the best as well!

I also recommend for people who like going to clubs to go the Time Out Bar. They play brilliant music, ALOHA staff in there are lovely made a lot of friends in there and also the Harmony which is based and the top of the village by the Hustlers. Staff in there are also lovely and funny the dancers always getting you up to dance on the floor and also the bar and the DJ always plays good music and new recent music.

It's a great place to be. Spent lots of time in London Bar, great to chill out and child and adult friendly. Boat trips great. Rafting great, for a more lively night has to be Time Out.. the people are fab very child and adult friendly. Food.. yum! Elneno, opposite London Bar is my fav but love Bella Muma. For chicken wrap big brother. Indian is lovely in Tas Ma Hal but all good... I come to Hisaronu 2 or 3 times a year. I have stayed at Byrams the London Apartments, Pine Hills Pine Valley, and had a great time with great people but the Seyir was very money grabbing. I don't mind paying but come on! Babies and accidents should never be charged. Many people complained too.

If you see a cute little baby monkey {only months old)being used as a lure to get your photo taken and also a huge iguana STOP and think! Where is that baby monkey' s family and was it taken from its mum and then she was killed? Take pictures of the beautiful things in Hisaronu but please don't encourage cruelty. The two guys with the monkey are usually found in Hisaronu shopping/bar area at night. Tell all your friends to avoid them. Tour Operator: Manos

I love Desire Jewellery! - Nicola Fraser. Date of travel: Jul 2006
I recently purchased a ring from Desire Jewellery in Hisaronu and was extremely impressed with the service I received. Erkan and Halis ( the owners of the shop ) were very helpful and made me feel at ease the minute I walked into the shop. I felt I could take the time to look around without feeling pressurised to buy anything. They showed me a number of rings, each shown with as much enthusiasm and attention to detail as the next. When I eventually decided on the ring I wanted they had it resized and ready for me the following day (they even offered to clean the rest of my jewellery). I would recommend Desire Jewellery to anyone thinking of purchasing items whilst in Turkey. I will definitely see them next year when I return. Thank you very much Erkan and Halis, see you next year. Amazing. Went to Hisaronu with 3 mates and had the best time. True, I was drunk for 99% of it, and didnt get out and about during day much, but the people are great, beaches are quality and the nightlife is busy and lively. So many other brits over there to meet, and the drinks are so cheap. going back this year. Big hello to the time out boys. p.s the cheese is horrible though Tour Operator: First Choice

We love Turkey! - Karen and Paul. Date of travel: Sep 2005
We have been going to Hisaronu/Olu Deniz now for the past 6 years. This was our 2nd trip in 2005. We used to stay at the Lagoon Hotel in Hisaronu but then it changed management and it just wasn't the same. The whole area has changed over the past 6 years and it has become more commercialised. I blame the Brits who insist on the creation of little Englands. Full English breakfast, Fish and Chip shops, "none of that foreign muck" etc. How anyone can say that it is expensive has clearly been living in total isolation at home! The food is very cheap, the drinks are very cheap, yes you can still get a pint for a £1! If you want to drink imported spirits then expect to pay more, sometimes the same as here! The Turkish people are lovely, we have yet to meet a dodgy one. As for persistent shopkeepers... try saying Hello, how are you? in Turkish,(Merhaba, Nasilsiniz?) this seems to work as they no longer see you as a walking wallet but as someone interested in their culture! Also, when you consider that the average Turk thinks that our minimum wage would see them financially secure for life, is it any wonder that they think we can afford whatever we want! I love Turkey, I love the Turkish people, I love Hisaronu and Billy's Beach. I will continue to go there even if it becomes expensive. There is nothing like the sunset and sunrise on the lagoon... heaven. So please if you're a moaning Brit, stay away go to Blackpool! Tour Operator: Independant

Hisaronu is great! - G.Walmsley & Family. Date of travel: Aug 2005
From Dalaman airport it takes 50 minutes by bus or minibus to Hisaronu holiday resort. This was our third time in Hisaronu, for years we went to Icmeler / Marmaris, but we like Hisaronu better. The nightlife in Hisaronu is very varied from Afrescos bar playing 50s / 60s music to the club atmosphere of Zombies (I’ve been a dj for 27 years trust me). During the day a mixture of pool / beach. The beach is about 10 minutes away in olu deniz, get to it by dolmus (mini-bus) or taxi or as we prefer go to the Lagoon (Billy’s beach) we ring him up and Billy collects us from the complex then when we want returns us free of charge, only condition is to hire his sun beds & parasol @4 tl each for the day (peanuts) and the prices of drinks and food are the same as anywhere. Days out we did this year Jeep safari is a must, pick up @ 8:00am drop off @ 19:30 £12 quid for all day plus lunch. Also 12 islands boat trip from Fethyie 10:30 pick up drop off 18:30 £7.00 plus lunch. Tour Operator: Excel

There is something to suit every taste in Hisaronu in both bars and restaurants. Lots of shops too and a post office. Quite a buzzing resort with lots to do. Olu Deniz is more laid back and a bit more expensive. The beach is beautiful. Hisaronu is a little cooler than Olu Deniz which is very welcome in July & August. Tour Operator: mytravel

A holiday to remember - Claire Richards. Date of travel: Jun 2005
First time in Turkey and had an amazing time. The hotel is 1st class: rooms and views were amazing. Place is so beautiful and green; people in the town are very friendly and are nearly always offering you a glass of their speciality tea, my favourite being apple! And the Monday market is great: lot's of bargains especially if you are good at haggling!! Night Life in Hisaronu is brilliant. Lot's of clubs weren't too busy in June so if your just after the nightlife I'd suggest going in July/ August when it will be buzzin. Nice hot weather and the food is great especially the BAKLAVA's. Couldn't fault this holiday one bit: was brilliant and I would definitley reccomend going on the tours, especially the 12 island boat trip and visiting the gorge. Was a holiday to remember and I will be 100% going back next year!!!!! Tour Operator: Thomas Cook

CCs pension is a fab place to stay in Hisaronu. It's situated on a quiet road but just a short hop on a dolmus and you're in the busy nightlife areas of downtown Hisaronu or Olu Deniz. I love this part of Turkey, you can't beat the Turks for their hospitality and great sense of humour! If you want peace and quiet go out of season but it does get busy in July and August! Oh and VERY HOT! Tour Operator: independant
