We loved Hotel Alcudia - Wendy + Keith. Date of travel: Oct 2008
Just come back from 2 weeks in this hotel after getting a late availability last year. We usually go to 4star hotels but were surprised at the cleanliness at this hotel, the way I see it is if you want perfection go to a 5-star hotel. The location is excellent, only a 2 minute stroll to the shops, harbour and beach what more do you want. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful. We will definitely be going back in a couple of years.

Alcudia is expensive. - Family Holiday. Date of travel: Aug 2008
Over the years Alcudia has become more and more expensive, I would even say greedy. It has a beautiful beach and seafront, but a funny smell near the port area. The boat trips out have become too expensive and I believe it is a lot cheaper to make your own arrangements.

Alcudia, lovely place - Debbie. Date of travel: Jul 2008
Didn't get to see much in Alcudia, apart from on the bus rides & walk to beach, but the beach was beautiful, lovely scenery everywhere.

Alcudia is a fantastic place - Andy & Amanda. Date of travel: Sep 2007
When out of the Hellvue apartments, Alcudia is a fantastic place. The beach is the best I have seen or been to. The whole family loved it, there are some great places to eat, we had fantastic nights out with the kids at Cheers bar. We met up with a family who were in the same situation as we were and in the same block at the Hellvue. The beach was very good for the children the water was very shallow for about 200yds. You have got to try the melon man if you come here or the crazy crepes man on the main street in Alcudia. If the two families had not got together I think the holiday would have been a complete wash out. Thanks Danny, Karon, Becky and Dan.

A bit overrated - Sharon. Date of travel: Sep 2007
Never visited Alcudia before but was told it was lovely. It does have a very nice beach but dare I say it, we thought it was a bit overrated, Yummy Yummy's is a nice place to eat, we visited the stables, and enjoyed walking down the front at night when it was all lit up, just keep your wits about you and watch the kids, it does get very busy at night.

It was fantastic - Chelsea. Date of travel: Sep 2007
Alcudia was fantastic. There was lots of things to do for kids on the complex, the food was nice and the rooms were quite nice, there was lots of things to do and lots of places to go. The shops and restaurants are right on your doorstep as soon as you leave the Bellevue Complex and the beach is only 5 minutes up one road which is nice. The staff were very friendly and the pools were nice and clean. I will definitely be going back!

I hated Alcudia - Marjorie & Leonard Hook. Date of travel: Sep 2007
I hated Alcudia. We was pestered by restaurant owners every time we passed. There was a bar there just opposite opwned by Italians. It was very pleasant. Didn't think much of the English bars. The shops near to the Bellevue was all the same. Just sold air beds, bucket and spades and a few toys. Nothing to bring home for gifts. The restaurants were very good despite them pestering you as you walked by.

Typical Spanish Holiday! - Charlotte & Matt. Date of travel: Sep 2007
We thought it was exactly what we paid for, a cheap, hot holiday in Spain. The Bellevue Hotel has realy good food but the prices of even soft drinks were shocking. The beaches were fab even in September and the pubs were ok for the day. There were no good looking pubs/clubs for the night unfortunately, but there's a really good cocktail bar on the main street, authentic and cheap! It's not a romantic getaway but what do you expect. Yeah it's tacky but it's great for young people even if you're more into clubbing you definitely need to go to Magalluf!

Went on holiday to Alcudia in September, loved the beach and the general cleanliness of the place. There was just a general feelgood factor I felt about the place and never once on the holiday did I feel in a situation where I felt uneasy. Cheers is brilliant for kids and adults alike and we ended up going to different places for food but always ending up there. Got to try the kebabs at Pago Pago on the main drag -delightful. All in all worth a visit.

For families not singles - Weir family. Date of travel: Aug 2007
Just returned from a holiday in Alcudia. The resort was very busy, with lots of bars, restaurants if you prefer self catering. Alcudia very much geared to families not young singles. There is an Inca Market every Wednesday, but very busy. Maybe better to go to the Alucdia market on a Tuesday and Sunday as it is easier and not so busy and spaced out. Drove to Caves of Drach on east coast. Worth seeing but not impressed with customer service, no guides to tell you a bit about them but men placed at strategic points along the pathways who shouted at anyone who dared to take a photo, almost military style!! When we came out they were selling photos of the caves which explained everything, wouldn't go again, not as nice a welcome we received in caves in North of Ibiza.

Everything is fairly close, even the old town is only 25 minutes up the road (walking distance). Again if you need any help ask the solecito staff especially Fester or Michelle. Oh and be very aware of the mosquitoes they are quite a problem, I was bitten 33 times!!! Water park is nice and so is the beach.

Alcudia beach 5*. Restaurants 4*. What is a bit of a pain is the looky looky men as you feel you have to cross over the road just to avoid them, the Siesta apartments are quite a walk from the beach about 15 to 20 minutes with the kids dragging there heels but can be longer if you get dragged into the numerous trinket shops along the way.

Gorgeous beach, there was plenty of sunbeds. We recommend Yummy Yummy for a resteraunt to eat at with excellent offers on three course meals, staff very friendly too. There was loads of bars and restaurants and plenty of shops. The pancake man was an experience to watch.

The beach is safe, great for the kids. The weather nice when the sun came out, watch out for the rain though... Good choice of shops and bars in the evening. No noisy clubs or discos. If you want to see a lovely place catch the local bus to Porto Pollensa, it's beautiful! only €1.10 per person...

Going to Alcudia Pins hating the Britain people - Suus. Date of travel: Aug 2007
Our holiday in Alcudia Pins is a miserable experience because there were too much English and Irish people. You people from England and Ireland are totally out of control on your holidays that you cannot see your childness behaviour in front of other people. Fighting for beds at the pool at 8 in the morning, never wait until it's your turn by going into bus or taxicab, not open for a normal adult conversation! Horrible you are! Next time we are going to Turkey again because there are not so many bloody Britain people! And the men...almost every man with that ugly tattoes on their back and arms, disgusting!!! No for us no holiday in Spain anymore, can't you English people not think about anything else but bingo and karaoke? How simple a human being can act.....worthless you are!! Not to speak about almost all Britain women: why are they all having such a stupid Victoria Beckham look??? Don't they have their own identity?

We loved Alcudia - Iris, Paddy and the terrible teenagers. Date of travel: Aug 2007
Alcudia has so much to offer for young and old. Belleview has a multitude of pubs. Fun bars, cafes and restaurants, pro gocarts, play areas, tons of shops where you can pick up anything, leather, ceramic goods, designer t-shirts. And if you want a portrait for the kids be sure to visit the guy who sits across from the Tivoli Terrace snack and cocktail bar. His work is fantastic €45 but worth every penny. The port is also a must more of the same but add the stunning yachts and the beach. The old town is great if you like history fantastic buildings from the Roman era and fantastic views from the top of the Roman wall. Horse and cart travel will cost €25 from Muro to Bellview and €45 to the port from muro but great as a treat. Lots of water sports, para sailing banana boats, pedaloes, speed boat tours and extreme rides as well as the usual cruises round the island. Make the effort to visit Smiths bar/diner, fantastic food with a large menu, speedy service and warm friendly chatty staff, nightly quiz and bingo and the staff are always up for a good laugh. Please remember the repellent when going to the bellview though. The midges are thick and fast there, if you have no repellent then rub your arms with lemon. the blihters hate it and won't go near you. And dads be warned - the go carts at the Bellview are addictive. Huge track with staff who are very saftey concious... it's fast and it's fun!

Although we had a nightmare stay in the Bellevue for the 2 weeks, I must say that the rest of Alcudia is very nice. The beaches are spotless and the water is so clean and safe as it is extremely shallow. Lunas Grill is a good place to go to eat and the entertainment is good too. We also went to the Shine Bar nightly where we found the staff extremely friendly and helpful especially Emma. The marina is a nice place to go round too, some of the boats are amazing. Sadly we would never go back to Alcudia as the Bellevue spoilt everything.

Alcudia is a bit like Blackpool with sun, (not too many Jerries though which is nice) plenty for the kids to do, loads of Brits to socialise with, if you don't like that sort of thing avoid it! Get a car and go to one of the quiet beaches or into the mountains. I don't do the sunbathing thing so went sailing, cycling, walking, had a car, went all over the place; Mallorca is a lovely Island. Top tip! go to the west of the Island in the evening and watch the sunset, it's worth it!

The resort itself was very quiet due to the time of year we went. We travelled the first week in May '07. I can imagine that in the summer the place must be heaving by the amount of spare seats and unopened restaurants there were. Yummies was ok, it did quite a nice English Breakfast and it was directly outside the hotel. There was a grill nearby called Lunars Grill which did good food with live music but as two single women on holiday we felt extremely intimidated by the 20 or more Spanish waiters. The best food we had was in the marina which did some delicious sea food.

Wonderful 20th anniversary in Alcudia - Shona Gilmour. Date of travel: Oct 2006
We travelled to Alcudia in October for our 20th wedding anniversary as I dont like it too warm and the weather was perfect. We tried many of the restuarants but preffered the Plaza, the best food in the resort, yummy. The staff were efficient and friendly and we could have sat there all night if we wanted to, it was a great atmosphere. Every nite at 10pm we would head to Trotters bar, a great British pub, what a place. Billy the owner made everyone welcome and there was all nationalities in every nite, we made some good friends in Trotters. The beach was fantastic and as I love to people watch, it was very fascinating. Will definately be returning to Alcudia and Trotters bar.

Holiday in Alcudia - Smarty. Date of travel: Sep 2006
Hi, we have been going to Alcudia on holiday for seven years now and we think it is a good place , its got a great beach, loads of shops, loads of bars with entertainment you just have to look around and see which bars suit you. There is a water park which is cheap you can spend all day there if you want to, but the food and drink there is expensive so take your own in. The shops sell all the same things but you have to go up to the harbour to town or the market as they are better. The Jolly Roger bar is better this year as they have a new DJ from Manchester who is really good he can make your night, they also do food there and have a pool. The Cheers Bar is ok as well, but you need to go there later after 10pm its better then more lively. If you want good food go to Jolly Roger or Tanyas Bar, she does everything, especially if you have kids. We have been to all different places and none have beaten our holiday in Alcudia yet mind you we are older now but we just like clean places when we are away and good bars. Tour Operator: My Travel

Alcudia Bellevue is a very, very big complex so there is a lot of different activities to choose from. You can never get bored. There is a lot of different restaurants and pubs and clubs so you're never staying in the same one. I went last year and I am going back in 7 days it was that good. The people who are saying bad things about the Bellevue are just lying and are just stingy about the money cost. You don't get everything cheap.

We recently returned from Alcudia. Although I would return again to the Island but not to the hotel. The food was good but there wasn't much to do in the evenings. The resort was far too busy. We need another holiday to get over the last one. Everything wasn't all bad though, We saw the Pirates show which was fantastic, went to Western Waterpark better if you have smaller children, if your children are the same age as ours (13,14) you would be better going to the Aqualand waterpark which is much better for older kids, catamaran was worth the money, especially the scuba diving in the cove, and Inca market. We found that the Spaniards won't barter, the African people like to barter but be warned they start with their prices higher than the spaniards so you could end up paying more. Overall we found Majorca quite expensive, The kids enjoyed their holiday and there was plenty for them to do. There was far too many people in the hotel complexes, in fact about 1500 of them, there was no quiet areas and at times got a but much. I wouldn't recommend the Jupiter hotels if you are travelling in a small party. If they could sort out a few issues there it would the perfect choice for families. Although be careful who you choose to fly out with, we was delayed coming back for 7 hours If you want to know more mail me: smith_k@blueyonder.co.uk Tour Operator: Cosmos

We only went on holiday to Alcudia for a week but we needed three so we will definitely be going back. There is so many child friendly bars, eg, Peach Pit & Cheers, every single bar we went to was fantastic, good entertainment and lovely food. Watch out for the hair braid street sellers though they can be nasty. Tour Operator: Thomas Cook

Don't miss Alcudia - L. Date of travel: Jun 2006
This was the best holiday we've been on and we will definitely return to Alcudia. There were plenty of bars in that area - the kids like Cheers bar and the Peach Pit where they have kids entertainment on. The beach was only a five minute walk from the apts and was a great beach - no need to be afraid of kids going too deep in the water. We went to Marineland to watch the dolphin shows and my 5 year old would like to recommend it to everyine who reads this! We had a brilliant day with free time to look around the posh harbour as well at all the fancy yachts and cars. We went horse riding one night too and had a great time. We didn't all ride - some of us went in the sangria cart! The barbeque at the Rancho Grande trip was top class. Tour Operator: MY TRAVEL

I wanna live in Alcudia! - Joanna Biggs, Kevin Biggs, Sophie Biggs, Julia Biggs. Date of travel: May 2006
The resort was very beautiful - and massive but not sprawling. We probably didn't go out as much as many others would because we were in an all-inclusive hotel. The beach was lovely. Very large and white (just like in the brochure!). We took our children (4) and (8) to Marineland, which was a lovely park with dolphin shows and all sorts of weird and wonderful marine life to see. We went with a excursion operator that we found by accident! We were having a stroll in the lively part of town where the big Bellvue hotel was and just crossing over a bridge we were given a leaflet by a very nice man called Michael and we booked with him at his little office there and then but when we went on the trip they picked us up at our hotel. We were really glad that we hadn't got round to booking with the rep because these were miles cheaper - and really good too. We had a great day out. I think I enoyed it more than the children! I can't remember the name of the excursion company but their logo was orange and the name was something like no frills. We got the bus to the next resort one day - the public bus was a bit of a nightmare but Porta Pollensa was a beautiful resort. Well worth a visit for a change of scenery. Tour Operator: First Choice

Alcudia - Susie Bright, Denise Bright, Lindsay Bright, Martin Bradshaw. Date of travel: May 2006
The hotel was perfectly located - we were in the centre of everything and just a short walk down the main strip to the beach. There were loads of bars and restaurants and lots of good pubs that were ideal for the kids, with games and entertainment. We also took the public bus one day to Porto Pollensa, the next resort which is worth a visit too. The local market in Alcudia is on a Sunday and a Tuesday and it was alright but the big one in Inca is much better. Cigs and booze are still cheaper in Spain but not as cheap as they used to be. Oh, and one more thing, look out for the bar crawl on a Tuesday night around Alcudia - a very good laugh. Tour Operator: Thomas Cook

Alcudia is great - Karen. Date of travel: May 2006
Alcudia is a clean tidy place, it has all kinds of entertaiment, you just have to find the right one for you. The beach is lovely and clean, there are loads of shops but they all sell the same thing, so your better off going up the beach to the habour there are loads of better shops there. If you want karaoke try the Piccaddily bar facing Bellevue thats ok for kids. Tour Operator: first choice

I travelled with a mate and we had a brilliant time; plenty to do at night and a brill sandy beach to pass the day away. Alcudia was not as mad as Magaluf, and would be fine for people of all ages and also children. Would go back no problem. Tour Operator: Alparooms,

The actual town of Alcudia was lovely. The beach was wonderful. Lots of shops and restaurants to look around but if you want to go on day trips go through your tour operator, do not use Toscana tours especially if you have little children because you are on a coach for 3 hours; they do not have a toilet on board and they do not stop anywhere for the children to go toilet either. Overall we thought Alcudia was nice, we enjoyed being near the the bars restaurants and shops. We would recommend comics bar and the banana shopping centre for it's freshly made tuna/mayo baguettes. The beach in Alcudia was very beautiful but smelly!! Due to the close proximity of the marina, the water could sometimes smell of sewers if u went for a swim, but it still looked crystal clear. Alcudia is a fantastic family resort. The Hydropark is a 'must' as is "Our Plaice" a British run Fish and Chip Shop on the main road near the marina. We would definitely return to Alcudia - 4th visit already. Although a fantastic beach holiday, I'd say that the best position on the beach is down by the main square rather than near the port. Alcudia is a great place for a family holiday. It is rather spread out into 3 main sections, the "centre", the old town and the port. There are frequent buses linking these although around 10 am and after 7 pm they can become very crowded and the bus drivers will shove on as many people as possible. Walking may be possible depending on how much you like walking. The beaches are nice. If you are looking for a relativly quiet holiday you might want to head for Play de Muro (where we stayed) as it isn't right in the centre near all the buzzing bars. If you want a really BUZZING holiday Alcudia may not be for you, head for the south! The "port" is really nice but the few hotels there are expensive although there are some cheap restaurants about. Head there for nice clothes shops! I'd definitely go back to Alcudia if I returned to Mallorca. Tour Operator: Thomson

The hotel was nice and the reception staff friendly. We found the pool area a bit of a nightmare as it was rammed with people from am to pm, food was ok but a bit army kitchen for my tastes, but the kids loved it so we/I was happy. As we were in Mallorca for 2 weeks we decided to explore; I decided to rent a car although I had forgotten to bring my driving licence. No car then. It was decided that we would do the trips through the reps desk near reception, although we were advised by another family to go to a place called Carpay near the traffic lights. Much cheaper and the same thing. Would go back to Alcudia. It was great for the kids and no hassle. Tour Operator: Thompson

Alcudia Is one of the best Beaches I have ever been to: stretches for miles and you can wade out a long way. The Playa de Muro area is very clean. Nightlife very good. Lots of restaurants and shopping to be done. Am visiting again in July 2005. Tour Operator: Thomson
